I am proud of you! This is an incredible achievement. It is exactly as you say, which is that it's an opportunity for more audiences to discover your work. I can't wait to see you thrive in this next chapter of your author life. <3

You do what’s best for your career and livelihood, as you should. Don’t let anyone make you feel guilty about that.

For the most part, I don't think that selling out is a real thing. It seems to be a knee jerk response fueled by either guilt or jealousy, (depending on whether the call is coming from "inside the house" as you say, ha ha). You are the only person who can adjudicate your heart and hopes. So if it's a move that brings your work to more people without bringing harm to you, it's a good move. For what it's worth, I am proud of you and your book journey too. And a little bit jealous, ha ha. I think your trajectory is stellar!

I am always a believer in there is not "selling out." If you break it all down, we write because we are writers. We publish as a business. It doesn't matter if it's a full time job or a hobby craft (tax wise), it's a business and when it makes sense to take a move that aligns with ANY part of your business or emotions, you do it. I'm proud of you. You're so super successful across the board and so it seems natural to take that success to the next level. This world is a hybrid in all that we do. Anyway, keep celebrating. You deserve it.
